A January 26 press release from the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) states that the FDA has removed the authorization for the use of two monoclonal antibody treatments, REGEN-COV and Bam/Ete, due to their ineffectiveness against the omicron variant, taking into consideration the prevalence of omicron in the country. Currently, the OSDH’s sequencing surveillance shows them 98 percent of cases are attributable to the omicron variant.
