Robyn Ready, of Chandler, has been appointed by Governor Kevin Stitt to serve as a Regent for Seminole State College. The appointment was confirmed by the Oklahoma State Senate Education Committee on May 10 and will be sent to the Oklahoma State Senate for final approval. The nomination was carried by Senator Zack Taylor (R-District 28). Ready’s seven-year term will begin on July 1, 2022. She will replace current SSC Regent Ray McQuiston, whose term ends in June.

Read moreThe United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, announced Wednesday that Patrick Dwayne Murphy, age 53, of Vernon, Oklahoma was sentenced to life imprisonment after being found guilty by a federal jury of Murder – Second Degree in Indian Country, Murder in Indian Country in Perpetration of Kidnapping, and Kidnapping Resulting in Death. The life sentences on each count were ordered to run concurrently.
