This event is sponsored by the Seminole Chamber of Commerce. It will feature a huge number of vendors selling crafts, food, and many other interesting items that are Oklahoma grown or Oklahoma made. Other events include a corn hole tournament, blood drive, and much more.

Attorney General Gentner Drummond announced Friday that former state senator Anthony Sykes has joined the Office of the Attorney General to serve as public access counselor. As an assistant attorney general, Sykes will work with state, county and municipal government agencies and commissions to ensure they strictly comply with the Open Meetings and Open Records Acts.

Read moreWe’re quickly approaching the halfway point of the session. We must conclude our floor work on Senate bills this Thursday, March 23. There are 250 senate bills still awaiting a floor hearing. As we prepare for the next phase of the legislative session, we’ve signed on as co-authors for House bills, and I’ll be carrying 13 of these in our chamber. The topics covered include pest and disease management, unfair labor practices, black bear hunting, law enforcement training, non-resident hunting licenses, and other agricultural issues.

OKLAHOMA CITY – On March 16, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) awarded four- $5,000 health and wellness scholarships to a selection of high school seniors who participated in the Oklahoma Youth Expo (OYE). Scholarship winners include Katelyn Fleming of Tecumseh, Kayla Poling of Silo, Abigail Burton of Stillwater, and Brody Shelby of Hollis.
