Developer Sheds Light on Scrapped Resort Plans

As reported in the June 11 edition of the Seminole Producer, plans for a large-scale casino/ resort at I-40 and Highway 99 have been scrapped. The Producer has since obtained additional information about the events surrounding the sudden reversal of plans.

Seminole Sales Tax Returns Lower For Month And Year

The June release from the Oklahoma Tax Commission (OTC) shows the City of Seminole saw a decrease in tax revenue in their latest return compared to last month. The release showed this revenue was also lower compared to June last year.

Oklahoma’s tribal nations contributed $23.4 billion to the state’s economy in 2023, according to a study released Wednesday. Over 55,000 Oklahomans were directly employed by tribes and nearly 140,000 jobs were supported for both tribal citizens and non-citizens, the tribal-backed study found.

Local Man Pleads Guilty to Federal Firearm Charges

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced Tuesday that Byron Keith Spencer, age 53, of Seminole, entered a guilty plea to a one-count Felony Information of Possession of Stolen Firearm, punishable by up to ten years in prison and a $250,000.00 fine.
