Seminole, Oklahoma resident Lajuana Lucille Knox passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026 in Shawnee, OK at the age of 86. Lajuana was born on December 10, 1939 in Guthrie, OK to Roy Venton and Dorothy Marie (Johnson) Davis. She later moved to California, where she graduated from high school and attended nursing school at San Jose State in 1959. She eventually made Seminole, Oklahoma, her home for the next 45 years—a community she loved and that loved her in return.

Lajuana dedicated her life to serving others. She owned and managed a toy store, served as Executive Director of the Seminole Housing Authority for 18 years until her retirement in 2005, then fulfilled her dream of owning an antique store, The Corner Store, for 12 years. She also worked part-time at the Family Resource Center and volunteered faithfully at Interfaith Social Ministries.

A devoted Christian, Lajuana was active in her church throughout her life, most recently attending Temple of Praise (Starting Point). She loved worshiping through music, listening to Pastor Jeff preach, and sharing her faith. Her hobbies included crocheting, painting, and writing children’s books. Lajuana also had a passion for travel and missions, serving in Brazil, Africa, and Ukraine, while also visiting Israel, cruising, and traveling throughout the United States. Above all, Lajuana’s life was rooted in her faith in Jesus Christ. Her favorite Scripture was 1 John 3:1. If she could leave one final message, it would be: “Tell someone about Jesus.”

Lajuana is survived by her two sons and daughter- in-law, Tony and Vicki Knox of Wewoka and Johnny Knox of Seminole; two daughters and son-in-law, Cindy and Karl Krause of Bowlegs and Nancy Martinez of Tampa, FL; brother and sister-inlaw, Venton and Patsy Davis of Chidester, AR; fifteen grandchildren, Blade Knox, Coalton Knox, David Krause, Nicole Hunt, Nicole Attocknie, Kennedi Krause, AJ Martinez, Michael Martinez, Cassandra Marinez, Savannah Knox, Jaedyn Knox, Joey Knox, Drew Knox, Tanner Knox and Lyla Knox; 16 great grandchildren and many other family and friends.

Lajuana was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Dorothy Davis.
