Leslie Carol (Pyle) Nuckolls, a longtime resident of Maud, Oklahoma, passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the age of 72. She was born on December 22, 1953, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, to Melford Pyle and Eileen (McCrary). On May 12, 1984, she married her love, George Nuckolls in Maud, OK at Trinity Baptist Church. Leslie was a cherished and devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church in Maud. She worked as a bookkeeper since before graduating high school, earning a reputation for her meticulous attention to detail.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and canning; each quilt she created was crafted with love and personalized with a special message. Leslie took greatest delight in time spent with her family, decorating and celebrating Christmas, and doting on her beloved dogs.

Leslie is survived by her husband George; five children—Stephanie Fletcher of Piedmont, OK; Jonathon Nuckolls and wife Michelle of The Woodlands, TX; Keri Kessinger and husband Ryan of Guthrie; and Matthew and Mark Nuckolls of the home; her four siblings—Karen Ellison and husband Dan of Arizona, Betty Brooks and husband Donny of Maud,

OK, Doyle Pyle of Maud, OK, and Robert Azlin of Maud, OK; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Eileen Desheilds; her father, Melford Pyle; and her brother, Loyle Pyle.

A memorial service for Leslie will take place on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 204 S. Oxford St. in Maud, with Pastor Butch Bradley officiating.
