Roy Dale Taff
Roy Dale Taff, 77, of Seminole, Oklahoma, passed away on April 2, 2025, in Oklahoma City at St. Anthony’s Hospital due to complications from a massive stroke.
Roy was born in Bray, Oklahoma, to Joseph John and Mary Emily Taff. He grew up with his siblings Joseph, David, and James on their Duncan family farm. He was the baby of the family and the last surviving member. In school, he was in 4-H, loved playing basketball and baseball, and spent his time working on cars, of which he and his brothers had many to tinker with. After high school, he served in the Vietnam War, receiving a Purple Heart. He came home after his tours, got married, and attended Cameron University for a degree in Management while working for the Social Security Administration. He had a successful career in City Management and Code, which he pursued in Waurika, Wynnewood, and Seminole. He was active in the Lions Club aid also served as a weekend warrior in the Oklahoma National Guard, where he retired as an MSG at age of 62. He took great pride in serving in the military, and his service shaped his life and the lives of his family.
In his retirement years, he loved to garden, junk, and take care of his many dogs, cats, chickens, and ducks. He was truly an animal lover, an avid gardener and loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a kind; loving man who will be greatly missed by those he touched in his life.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Mary, Tammy, Johnny, and Matthew; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Roy will be cremated, but a celebration of his life with military honors provided by the Stephens County Honor Guard and Patriot Guard Riders will be held at Whitt Funeral home, on Monday, April 14 at 10:00 A.M. His family will be present to welcome his friends and family. A private burial ceremony with family will be at Hope Cemetery, Stephens County, Oklahoma.
