Seminole State Volleyball Win Tri-Meet at Home

The Seminole State Volleyball team hosted a tri-meet with Independence Community College and Dallas College Mountain View last Saturday.

The 16-13 SSC Lady Trojans protected their home court with victories in both games.

Seminole State and Independence College started the five-set battle with Independence winning the first game 27-25.

The Lady Trojans fired right back and won the next two games 25-15 and 25-20.

Independence Community came back to tie the series 2-2 with a fourth game score of 25-18.

Seminole State settled the score in the fifth and won the series 3-2 with a fifth game score of 15-9.

SSC’s Malerie Hawk had 16 kills, and Amber Jones had 15 kills, and Julie Otero had 18 digs in the series.

Seminole State faced Dallas College Mountain View next in a four-game set victory.

Dallas College came out on fire and won the first game 25-16. The Lady Trojans settled down and won out the rest of the way.

In the second game, Seminole State won 25-19, 25-23 in a tough win and 25-15 in the fourth and final game of the series.

SSC’s Malerie Hawk, Amber Jones and Caeli Schaefer each had 12 kills in the series.

Malerie Hawk lead the way in digs with 19 followed by Kara Doan with 15.

The Seminole State Volleyball team will be on the road until the 22nd when they take on Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College at home.

The start time for this home game will be at 5:30 p.m.
