NFL Coaching Carousel Winners and Losers in 2025-26

ESPN - This offseason’s coaching carousel is one of the wildest in recent memory.

Not only did two head-coaching jobs open during the season, but EIGHT more have become available since the end of the regular season, including two from teams that made the playoffs.

The 2026 NFL offseason has seen a massive coaching overhaul, with over 10 head coaching changes, including the high-profile firings of Sean McDermott (Bills), John Harbaugh (Ravens), and Kevin Stefanski (Browns). Other fired head coaches include Mike McDaniel (Dolphins), Raheem Morris (Falcons), Pete Carroll (Raiders), and Jonathan Gannon (Cardinals).

Chris Grier (Miami Dolphins GM) was also reported as fired.

Key 2026 Replacements & Movements Robert Saleh (expected to join Titans) Jeff Hafley (hired by Dolphins) Kevin Stefanski (hired by Falcons) John Harbaugh (hired by Giants) Most recently, the Tennessee Titans are working to finalize a deal with Robert Saleh after firing Brian Callahan in October. Jeff Hafley agreed to become the next head coach of the Miami Dolphins and replace Mike McDaniel. The Atlanta Falcons hired Kevin Stefanski to replace Raheem Morris. And John Harbaugh became the next head coach of the New York Giants, replacing Brian Daboll.

Open jobs include the Buffalo Bills (Sean McDermott), Baltimore Ravens (Harbaugh), Arizona Cardinals (Jonathan Gannon), Las Vegas Raiders (Pete Carroll), Cleveland Browns (Stefanski) and Pittsburgh Steelers (Mike Tomlin). There have now been at least five head coaching changes in 16 straight seasons. And per ESPN Research, the 10 head coach moves for 2026 are tied for the most in an offseason all time with 1978, 1997, 2006 and 2022.
