DEAR ABBY: My godchildren and I were always very close. They consider me literally their second mom. Until now, we were blessed with great communication. The oldest always sent me a warm Mother’s Day greeting and called me often. About a year ago, she started ignoring all of my overtures.

Years ago I was sent this little story of childhood reflections from two young girls who lived on a little farm. I’ll share the gist of it. The little girls had the chore of gathering eggs from the small chicken yard.

I can ‘memorate ‘thout too much trouble about the time this little girl come to visit on the ranch. Oh, Alphonse Wilson here, don’t you see… Yessir, she was just a tad, mebbe three years old. Couldn’t say for sure. Didn’t check her teeth.

Years ago, right after I began CoffeeTime Column, a friend suggested I write an article addressing ‘Dealing with your ex after the divorce.’ Now, I don’t know much, but I do know that a writer is foolish to attempt to write about an unfamiliar subject.

FRIDAY, APRIL 11, 2025 DEAR ABBY: My husband and I are the parents of three grown sons. Our middle son (“Kurt,” age 29) has been in conflict with his younger brother (“Jared,” age 26) for more than a year. Kurt started doing stand-up comedy but still works a day job to pay his bills.

THURSDAY, APRIL 10, 2025 DEAR ABBY: My husband retired three weeks ago, and he has been driving me crazy ever since. I’m a night owl, and he’s known it since we met 10 years ago. Today, he told me he’d be playing golf with an old friend tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9, 2025 DEAR ABBY: I have been with my boyfriend for 3 1/2 years. Before me, he was known for sleeping around. He has never cheated on me that I am aware of, but when we go to social gatherings (or just out), he flirts with other women.

TUESDAY, APRIL 8, 2025 DEAR ABBY: My best friend of 45 years and I are 65. She has been married since 1985; I have been divorced for many years. She recently shocked me by claiming that a mutual friend told her I have been having an affair with a married acquaintance!

SUNDAY, APRIL 6, 2025 DEAR ABBY: I recently turned 30, and I find myself in kind of a “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” situation, specifically the scene where Toula’s father has invited several Greek men to dinner to try to persuade her to marry one of them.
