The 56th Annual Mulhollad- Orlando Basketball Invitational scheduled for this past weekend was canceled due to the weather.

The Varnum Whippets were scheduled to participate in the tournament, but the snow changed the plans.

Varnum got together with a few schools and had their own basketball tournament Saturday afternoon titled the Varnum Winter Storm Festival.

The schools that participated in the festival were Earlsboro, Glencoe, Lomega and Varnum.

Lomega was also scheduled to play in the Mulhollad Invitational with Varnum.

The number one ranked Lomega Lady Raiders defeated the Earlsboro Lady Wildcats 66-31 and the Lomega Raider boys won a close game over the Earlsbor Wildcat boys in OT with a final score of 64-62.

The Varnum Lady Whippets defeated the Glencoe Lady Panthers 46-38, and the Number 3 Varnum Whippet boys defeated the Glencoe boys 79-55.

Next up for Varnum is an away game at Moss on the 17th of January. The game is set to start at 6:30 p.m.
