The Strother Lady Yellowjackets hosted a Class A District playoff Tuesday against Geary and won in two dominate straight games.

In the first game of the playoffs, the Geary Lady Buffaoles went to bat first and went three-and-out. The Lady Yellowjackets came to play and lit up the score board with nine runs when Brooklyn Turner on a line drive, Gracey Rich and Laniyah Harrison scored on a ground ball, Brooklyn Price scored on a walk, Ludie Barrett-Higgins scored on a walk and Emily Echelle, Paige Atkeson and Taos Tinsley scored when Turner hit an inside home run.

The defense of Strother held the Lady Buffaloes scoreless in the second inning and took advantage and put the game away with 12 runs in the bottom of second.

Strother dominated the second inning when Price scored on a line drive, Higgins scored on a missed throw, Echelle scored on a ground, Tinsley scored on a line drive, Kyleigh Sweet and Turner scored on a ground, Harrison scored on a line drive, Rich and Wilkins scored on an error, Madison Yeubanks scored on a line drive and Lopez scored on a line drive.

The Lady Buffaloes tried one more time at the top of the third to make a dent in the score but went threeand- out. The game was called.

Strother posted a shutout with a final score of 21-0.

Pitching for Strother was Adrienne Hagy who pitched three innings, allowing zero runs, striking out two and walking zero.

In the second and final game, the game went just three innings again with a huge second inning for Strother.

The Lady Buffaloes went to bat first again and came away with two runs to light up the score board.

Strother got on board at the bottom of the inning with Turner scoring on a ground ball, Geneva Reynolds scored on a walk, Rich scored on a walk and Price scored on a ground ball.

The Lady Buffaloes struggles continued in the second and went threeand- out. The Lady Yellowjackets again dominated the second inning when Sweet scored on a fly ball, Turner scored on a line drive, Reynolds scored on a ground, Price scored on a throw, Echelle and Higgins scored on a ground ball, Harrison scored on a walk, Sweet, Atkeson and Tinsley scored on an error, Turner scored on a ground ball, Rich and Reynolds scored on a line drive and an error, Echelle and Price scored on a ground ball and Reynolds scored on a line drive.

Geary was down by 18 runs heading into the third inning. The Lady Bufflaoes could only mustard up a single run and the game was over.

The Strother Lady Yellowjackets won the Class A District Championship with a final score of 20-3.

The Regional Playoffs bracket is not out yet when and where everyone will play but when it does it will be in the paper.
