SSC Lady Trojans Win at Home to Continue Their Winning Streak

The Seminole State Lady Trojan softball team is on a 14-game winning streak with a season record of 28-10 so far.

Seminole State had two double-headers this past week and won all four.

On Tuesday the 15th, the Lady Trojans hosted the Eastern Oklahoma State College Lady Mountaineers in two games.

In the first game, the Lady Mountaineers took the early with one run in the first. SSC tied things up in the third inning with Cameron Westbrook scoring on a walk.

The defense of Seminole State held the Lady Mountaineers scoreless throughout the rest of the game.

SSC sealed the win with two runs scored in the fifth by Kenna Maker who hit a homerun and knocked in runner Aaliyah Dauman.

Pitching for SSC was McKenna Ingram who pitched seven innings, allowing one run, striking out 12 and walking one.

In the next game, The Lady Trojans jumped out to an early lead in the first when Kaylee Salle and Dauman scored on a fly ball.

The Lady Mountaineers scored a run at the top of the second to get on the board. SSC added to their lead with a home run by Mackenzie Kauk in the inning.

Neither team scored in the third. The frustrations on offense continued for the Lady Mountaineers through the third through the fifth innings.

The Lady Trojans scored a single run in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings by Kauk and Ava Yocham. The Lady Mountaineers scored a single in the sixth, but it wasn’t enough to catch the Trojans.

Seminole State won 6-2. Pitching for SSC was Graci Major who pitched seven innings, allowing two runs, striking out four and walking two.

On Thursday afternoon, the Seminole State Lady Trojans hosted the Northeastern Oklahoma AM College Lady Norse in a double- header. In the first game, the Lady Trojans posted a shutout to start the series.

Neither team scored a run in the first two innings. Seminole State got on board at the bottom of the third with Salle and Dauman scoring on a ground ball.

In the next inning, Kinley Green of Seminole State scored on an error and Kaylee Madden scored on a ground ball.

Seminole State ended the game in the fifth inning with Maker hitting a home run at the top of the inning, Jentrie Gibson scored on a line drive and Madden scored on a fly ball.

Final score of the game was 8-0 Seminole State.

Pitching for SSC was McKenna Ingram who pitched five innings, allowing zero runs, striking out 10 and walking zero.

In the second game of the afternoon, the Lady Norse got on the board first with a single run in the second inning. The Lady Trojans answered right back in the bottom of the second with Green scoring on a ground, Westbrook scoring on a ground ball and Salle hit a homerun and knocks in runner Dauman.

The Lady Norse scored another run in the third to try and close the gap. The Lady Trojans widened it at the bottom of the inning with Yocham and Kauk scoring on an error, Green scored on a wild pitch and Madden scored on an error and Gibson scored on a fly ball.

Neither team scored in the fourth or fifth innings. The Lady Norse lit up the score board one more time in the sixth with a single run. The Lady Trojans sealed the win in the inning with Yocham scoring on a ground ball and Madden scoring on a fly ball.

Seminole State continues their streak with a final score of 11-3.

Pitching for SSC was Graci Major who pitched 3.1 innings, allowing two runs, striking out three and walking two.

Morgan Curry pitched 2.2 innings, allowing one run, striking out one and walking one.

Next up for the Seminole State Lady Trojans is an away game at Rose State College on the 24th.

The next home game for SSC is Connors State on the 26th in a double- header. The first game is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. and the second game will start at 4 p.m.
