SSC Have First Ever Battle at Bricktown Saturday

The first ever Battle at Bricktown happened this past Saturday at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark against the Seminole State Trojans and the Rose State Raiders in some baseball double-header action.

The Raiders took the first game, and the Trojans won the second game.

The first game started at 11am Saturday with the game being tied after the first with one run each.

Rose State took the lead in the third inning with four runs scored. Cade Mills of the Trojans scored on a fly ball by Grayson Childers at the top of the inning.

The Trojans were held scoreless the rest of the innings while the Raiders scored two more runs in the 4th and 5th innings to win the game 7-2.

Trojans Kendall McDowell and Cade Mills scored one run each in the game.

Matt Hudspeth pitched 3 innings, allowing 6 runs and striking out 3.

Cash Coble pitched 3 innings, allowing 1 run and two strikeouts.

In the second game, Seminole State jumped out to an early lead when Kendall McDowell scored on a sacrifice by Grayson Childers. The Trojans held the Raiders scoreless through the first three innings.

Trojan WT Jones scored on a ground ball by Cohl McCoy in the second.

The Raiders got on the board at the top of the fourth with a single run. Seminole State struggled through the fourth and the fifth innings.

Rose State goes three and out at the top of the sixth. The Trojans got fired up when McDowell scored on a line drive, Tyler Payton scored on a sacrifice fly by Jones and Wilfred Gonzales scored on a line drive.

The Trojans kept the Raiders scoreless from the fifth inning on. Grayson Childers scored on a ground ball in the eighth inning to seal the win for Seminole State.

Pitching for Seminole State in the second game was Denver Hamilton who pitched 7 innings allowing one run and striking out four.

Luke Saunders pitched one inning striking out two and Mylan Childers pitched the final inning.

Next up for the Trojans is a home game on the 6th against Eastern Oklahoma State College. The game is set to start at 2 p.m.
