Seminole State Trojan Baseball Win at Home This Week

The Seminole State Trojans won at home Monday against Grayson to better their season record to 27-14 in a hard-fought game.

Grayson went threeand-out at the top of the first. Seminole State took the lead with a run by Kendall McDowell on a sacrifice by Wilfred Gonzalez.

Grayson struggled on offense through the first four innings and went scoreless. Seminole State a single run in the second and third innings by McDowell and Cohl McCoy. Seminole State extended their lead in the fourth with Luke Fox scoring on a ground ball and McCoy scoring on a fly ball.

The Trojans had a 5-0 lead heading into the fifth inning. Grayson settled down and got on board with two runs scored at the top of the inning. The Trojans went three-and-out.

Grayson took advantage of the opportunity and took the lead with five runs scored at the top of the sixth. The Trojans answered right back with Daniel Restrepo hitting a home run and knocking in runners Tagen Simon and Tyler Payton to regain the lead.

Grayson goes scoreless in the seventh and the Trojans extend their lead with McCoy scoring on a fly ball. Grayson scores in the 8th. The Trojans go three-andout.

At the top of the ninth inning, Grayson retakes the lead with five runs scored to go up by four. The Trojans tie things up at the bottom of the ninth with Grayson Childers scoring on a line drive, Hunter Dearman scored on a passed ball, Fox scored on a walk and McCoy scored on a walk.

The game went into the tenth inning. Grayson could not answer with a run and went three-and-out. The Trojans sealed the win with Fox scoring on a walk.

The Seminole State Trojans won the nail-biter with a final score of 14-13 over Grayson.

Pitching for Seminole State was Clayton Moore who pitched five innings, allowing two runs, striking out one and walking one.

Austin May pitched two innings allowing one run, striking out one and walking one.

Ethan Rich and Johan Hildago each pitched one inning with zero runs and striking out one each.

Next up for the Trojans is a home game on the 22nd against Cowley County Community College. The game is set to start at 2 p.m.
