Seminole State Softball Split Games with Lady Bucks Monday

The Seminole State Lady Trojans played a double- header against UA Rich Mountain on Monday afternoon on a bright sunny day. The day was split with the Lady Trojans winning the first game and the Lady Bucks winning the second matchup.

The Lady Bucks stepped up to the plate first and went three-and-out. The Lady Trojans jumped on the board when Kaylee Sallee hit a homerun and knocked in Aaliyah Dauman. Ava Yocham scored on a fly ball and Mackenzie Kauk scored on a throw.

Neither team scored in the second inning.

The Lady Busks struggled on offense in the first four innings. The Lady Trojans added to their lead when Camryn Westbrook scored on a sacrifice by Mckayla Greenshaw to go up 5-0.

With the Lady Bucks struggling, SSC went to work in the bottom of the fourth with Jentrie Gibson scoring on a line drive, Graci Major scoring on a line drive, Dauman scored on a throw, Salle scored on a fly ball and Mckenzie Cothran scored on an error.

The Lady Bucks homered on a fly ball to start the fifth inning and scored on a ground ball to get on the board. It wasn’t enough to continue, and the game was called with Seminole State winning the game 12 to 2.

Pitching for the Lady Trojans was Graci Major who pitched four innings, allowing zero runs and striking out six.

Mackenzie Kauk pitched one inning, allowing zero runs and striking out three.

The second game started out slowly for both teams.

Neither team got on board in the first three innings.

The Lady Bucks went three-and-out in the top of the fourth. Seminole State lit up the scoreboard with a run by Cothran on a ground ball by Major.

The defenses on both sides kept it scoreless in the fifth.

The Lady Bucks found some momentum and scored three runs at the top of the sixth. The Lady Trojans could not answer even though they collected nine hits to the Lady Bucks’ seven.

UA Rich Mountain Lady Bucks won 3-1 in the second game.

Pitching for Seminole State was Graci Major who pitched five innings, allowing one run and striking out four.

Mackenzie Kauk pitched two innings, allowing two runs and striking out two.

Next up for the Lady Trojans is an away game at Northern Oklahoma College- Tonkawa Friday the 14th.

The next home game is against Northern Oklahoma College-Enid on the 25th in a double-header. The first game will start at 2 p.m. and the second game will start at 4 p.m.
