Seminole State Soccer Are on a 7-Game Winning Streak

Seminole State hosted the Redlands Community College Lady Cougars Sunday afternoon for some good soccer action.

The SSC soccer team are undefeated at home and are on a 7-game winning streak.

The game started out with some good defensive pressure from both sides until about the 19-minute mark. Seminole State Lady Trojan Kamora Haralson put SSC on the board with an unassisted goal.

Two minutes later, teammate Ashlyn Vargas scored a goal, assisted by Isabella Queneau.

The Lady Cougars fought back and tried to slow down the Lady Trojans, but the train kept rolling.

Seminole State’s Fredricka Finnikin scored the third goal for Seminole with an assist from Kayla Pelter.

Another two minutes later, Claire Navarro scored an unassisted goal. Before the half, Rebekah Nolen added to SSC’s lead with a goal assisted by Delilah Rico.

The Lady Cougars had no answer for Seminole State in the first half and continued to struggle in the second.

At the top of the second half, Molly-Kate Lundy scored a goal with the help of teammates Isabella Queneau and Jillian Powell.

The Lady Trojans did not look back and kept applying the offensive pressure. Katelyn Magee scored an unassisted goal at the 76-minute mark.

Seminole State held Redlands scoreless throughout the game.

Fredricka Finnikin sealed the win for Seminole State with a goal that was assisted by Claire Navarro.

Seminole State stays undefeated at home with a final score of 8-0.

Seminole State has had seven shutouts on the season so far.

Goalies for Seminole State were Madelyn Jones and Bry Russell.

Next up for Seminole State is a home game against Rich Mountain on Sunday the 12th. Rich Mountain has an almost identical record as Seminole State with an undefeated record at home and are also on a 7-game winning streak.

The Rich Mountain Lady Bucks have a seasonal record of 10-0-1. The tie came early in the season against our Seminole State Lady Trojans on the 7th of September at Rich Mountain.

The SSC soccer team are 9-1-2 on the season this year.

This Sunday, Seminole State hosts Rich Mountain in front of our Seminole State’s home crowd.
