Seminole County High Schools Place At Cross Country Regional Meets
Seminole County had five local high schools represent their schools at the Cross-Country Regional meets this past Saturday.
North Rock Creek hosted Seminole in 4A and Konawa in 2A.
Konawa’s Tanner Johnson and Rebeckah Sitton qualified for State.
Henryetta hosted New Lima, Sasakwa, Strother and Varnum in Class A.
Varnum’s Cooper Smith and Karsyn Lowry qualified for State and set school records in their races.
At North Rock Creek in the girls 4A 2-mile run, Gracie Stark placed 28th with a time of 13:50.09, Maddison Harvey placed 61st with a time of 15:37.31, Ryeley Stanfill placed 77th with a time of 16:10.50, Lailah Anderson placed 80th with a time of 16:21.20, Kloe Palmer placed 81st with time of 16:25.46 and Graceland Bias placed 86th with a time of 17:22.24, all from Seminole. The Seminole Lady Chieftain team placed 12th overall with a score of 325.
In the boys 4A 3-mile run, Grady Tiger placed 54th with a time of 19:11.59, Lupe Vasquez placed 85th with a time of 20:46.72, Carson Garner placed 87th with a time of 20:50.49, Sevyn Bush placed 90th with a time of 20:56.48 and Dayton Maples placed 94th with a time of 21:05.46, all from Seminole. The Seminole Chieftain boys’ team placed 16th overall with a score of 410.
In the girls 2A 2-mile run, Rebeckah Sitton placed 25th with a time of 14:55.34, Anjal Bahe placed 74th with a time of 19:22.77 and Amanda Martinez placed 75th with a time of 19:26.61, all from Konawa.
In the boys 2A 3-mile run, Tanner Johnson placed 14th with a time of 19:03.68, Rayden Sitton placed 33rd with a time of 21:11.35, Hayden Moore placed 42nd with a time of 22:42.80, Mason Davis placed 50th with a time of 23:42.80 and Caden Burris placed 59th with a time of 25:18.38, all from Konawa. The Konawa Tiger team placed 7th overall with a score of 148.
At the Henryetta Regional Cross Country meet in the girls Class A 2-mile run, Karsyn Lowery of Varnum placed 6th with a time of 13:49.57, Jazmyn Williams (Varnum) placed 44th with a time of 16:11.17, Anna-Karen Prieto (Varnum) placed 66th with a time of 17:52.40, Sky Yott (Varnum) placed 69th with a time of 18:14.79, Geneva Reynolds of Strother placed 70th with a time of 18:31.08, Peyton Johnson of New Lima placed 71st with a time of 18:31.95, Abigail Jones (Varnum) placed 87th with a time of 21:08.07, Karli Johnson of New Lima placed 91st with a time of 22:01.53 and Shayla Gavin (Varnum) placed 94th with a time of 22:41.09.

The State Cross Country meet will be at Edmond Santa Fe High School on Saturday, November 2nd.
Class 2A girls will run at 12:25 p.m. and Class 2A boys will run at 12:55 p.m. This will be the event for the Konawa runners.
Class A girls will run at 2:55 p.m. and Class A boys will run at 3:25 p.m. This will be the event for the Varnum runners.
