Seminole Chieftains Look to Clinch Playoff Berth at Victory
On Friday, November 7th, the Seminole Chieftains will travel north to take on the Victory Christian Conquerors in a win and you’re in scenario for their 2025 playoff hopes. At 6-3 overall and 3-3 in district play, Seminole will look to beat Victory for the second straight year and secure the final playoff spot in district 3A-2 over Mannford and Bristow.
The Conquerors have had a rough 2025 campaign, holding an overall record of 2-7 and a 1-5 district record. Their season has included blowout losses to district opponents whom Seminole has beaten, such as Bristow (28-51 L), Mannford (14-48 L), and Lone Grove (7-63 L). Victory’s lone district win of 2025 was a 33-30 battle against Mcloud, a team the Chieftains also have beaten.
Last season, Seminole hosted the Conquerors on senior night in a contest that saw the winner make the 2024 playoffs and the loser be sent home. The Chieftains trailed 14-12 at the half but rallied behind their defense in the second half, capitalized on a returning senior Ethan Miller interception, and defeated Victory 20-14.
The 2024 season was Victory’s first in Class 3A after moving up a class from 2A. With that loss to Seminole last year, the Conquerors fell to 4-6 overall, a 3-4 district record, and a 5th place finish in the district standings. Causing them to miss the playoffs in their inaugural season, and for the first time since 2019.
The Chieftains and Conquerors have met a total of six times on the gridiron, with Seminole holding the all-time series lead, 4-2. Throughout the years, these two teams have loved playing tight matchups, as shown by the average score being 16.7 to 14.1 in favor of the Chieftains. So be on the lookout for another good ball game between these two teams.
Here is what Head Coach Mike Snyder had to say ahead of his team’s regular season finale. “Well, we have to have this one, yeah, we do. They have got a lot of speed, but they have struggled a little bit. So, we just have to go up there with the right mental mindset.”
Snyder’s Chieftains will look to clinch their second straight playoff berth and secure the Head Coach’s 399th career win when Seminole travels to take on Victory Christian in a mustwin ballgame on Friday, November 7th. Game time is set for 7:00PM.
Other Friday night lights action around the county includes home contests for Maud (VS Fox), Sasakwa (VS Paoli), Wewoka (VS Regent Prep), and away games for Bowlegs (AT Maysville), Konawa (AT Wayne), Strother (AT Wetumka).
All game times are set for 7:00PM.
