Seminole Battles Stroud at Home in Season Opener

The Seminole Lady Chieftain softball girls hosted the Stroud Lady Tigers for their first slowpitch softball of the season.

The Lady Chieftains fell short of the win on a very cold and windy night Tuesday.

The Lady Tigers took off in the first inning with ten runs scored. The first score was a homerun by Miyah Clark.

The Lady Chieftains answered back in the bottom of the first when they hit a homerun and knocked in runners Zoey Babb and Jakayiah Andrews. Aundrea Tagg scored on a ground ball, Tiona Bruner scored on a walk, Avry Humphers scored on a walk and A. Wassne scored on a walk.

The Lady Chieftains closed the gap by 3 runs heading into the second. Neither team lit up the scoreboard in the second inning.

The wind was really picking up by the third inning as the Lady Tigers came up to the plate. Stroud scored 17 runs in the inning to take a commanding lead.

The score was now 27-7 Stroud. The Lady Chieftains went three and out at the bottom of the third and the game was called.

Pitching for the Lady Chieftains was Jakayiah Andrews who pitched three innings, allowing 27 runs, striking out one and walking 11.

Next up for the Seminole Lady Chieftains is an away game at Konawa this Friday. The game is set to start at 4:30 p.m.

The next home game for the Lady Chieftains is on the 31st against Bethel. The game is set to start at 4:30 p.m.
