Sasakwa Wins First Home Game of Season Friday Night

The Sasakwa Vikings hosted the Bowlegs Bison for their first basketball home game of the season Friday night.

The Vikings and Lady Vikings protected their home court with the Lady Vikings winning a tough battle 41-30 and the Vikings boys dominating their game 89-32.

The Lady Vikings took to the court first and shot from the foul line most of the first quarter.

Kloe Oyler of Bowlegs knocked down a trey and a basket to put 5 points up for Bowlegs.

Sasakwa had a fivepoint lead heading into the second quarter.

The Lady Vikings shot more from the field and Addy Odom knocked down a trey to help Sasakwa keep their lead.

Bowlegs fired back in the second with Oyler hitting two more three-point shots an Nylah Brown scoring three points from the foul line. Bowlegs had closed the gap before the break.

Sasakwa had the lead at halftime with a score of 24-15.

The battle continued in the third. The Lady Bison held Sasakwa to just 8 points in the frame, but Odom managed two threepoint shots to help keep the Lady Vikings ahead.

Lady Bison Oyler continued with her ariel display and hit another three-point shot to help the Lady Bison go on a 7-8 run.

The game went back and forth in the final frame. Both teams were plagued with fouls and most points came from the foul line.

The Sasakwa Lady Vikings edged out the Lady Bison 9-8 in the quarter and finished with a final score of 41-30.

For the Bowlegs Lady Bison, Kloe Oyler scored 14 points and four 3-point shots.

Nylah Brown scored 7 points and was 5 of 10 from the foul line.

For the Sasakwa Lady Vikings, Addy Odom scored 10 points, three 3-point shots and was 1 of 2 from the line.

Alexis James had 9 points and was 1 for 1 from the line.

Chasity Thomas had 8 points and was 5 of 7 from the line.

The Viking boys hit the court next to take on the Bowlegs Bison boys.

The Vikings went on a 17 to 5 run in the first quarter with Thad Harjo and Nate Read each knocking down a trey.

Bowlegs regrouped in the second and fired back when Jacob Lewis hit two treys to help close the gap, but the Vikings dominated the quarter with Titan Collins scoring 10 points with two treys, Micah Wheeler scoring 8 and Josh Jones scoring 6 and one trey.

The Vikings had a big lead heading into the break with a score of 51-18.

Bowlegs struggled again on offense in the third quarter. Hudson Jasna got the crowd going a little bit with a three-point shot but the offense of the Vikings continued to roll and gain ground as Sasakwa went on a 20-6 run in the quarter.

The final quarter had some ariel shooting from both teams as Hunter Hamilton and Ty Berefield each knocked down a trey.

Micheal Stewart, Abe Odom and Easton Gore of Sasakwa each knocked down a three-point shot also.

The Vikings cruised in for the win with a final score of 89-32 over the Bison.

Scoring for the Bowlegs Bison was Hudson Jasna with 7 points, one trey and was 2 for 2 from the line.

Darius Morrison had 7 points and was one of four from the foul line.

Jacob Lewis had 6 points all from three-point shots.

Scoring for the Sasakwa Vikings was Nate Read with 15 points, two treys and was 3 of 5 from the line.

Josh Jones had 13 points, two treys and was one of two from the line.

Titan Collins had 10 points and two treys.

Next up for both teams will be the LRC Conference Tournament at the Seminole High School gym on December 2nd through the 7th.
