Sasakwa Vikings Stay Undefeated at Home Friday
The Sasakwa Vikings held their second home game of the season Friday night against the Butner Eagles.
The Vikings protected their home court in both games to stay undefeated at home.
The Lady Vikings took to the court first and made a big impact with Alexis James scoring 10 points, KK Wheeler scoring 6 and Addy Odom knocking down a three-point shot to help the Lady Vikings go on a 25-3 run in the first.
Butner Lady Eagle Honesty Wolf found her threepoint range and added 3 more points for the Eagles. Sasakwa slowed down the attack and rolled up with 16 points in the quarter to add to their lead.
The Lady Vikings had a commanding lead at the half with a 41-6 lead.
The Lady Eagles had a hard time connecting on offense in the second half and struggled to put points on the board.
The Lady Vikings put up 8 points in the third and stayed in control of the game.
Sasakwa continued with their pressure in the final frame and held the Lady Eagles scoreless in the quarter.
The Sasakwa Lady Vikings won the game with a final score of 65-8.
Scoring for Butner was #20 and Honesty Wolf each scoring a three-point shot.
Scoring for the Lady Vikings was Chasity Thomas with 13 points and was one of two from the free throw line.
Alexis James had 12 points and Aiyana Wise had 11 points and was three of four from the line.
The Vikings boys were next to hit the court and face the Butner Eagle boys.
The Viking boys jumped out to a huge lead with Micah Wheeler, Titan Collins and Josh Jones each finding their three-point range in the first to go up 30-7.
Butner Eagle Seth Caviness also found his range with 3 three-point shots. One in the first and two in the second quarter.
The Viking boys continued with their ariel display with Ayden Livesay and Titus Harper-Collins each knocking down a trey and Jones hitting two more treys to help Sasakwa take a commanding lead at the half.
The Butner Eagles struggled in the second half and was held to 4 points scored in the third.
Viking Livesay found his spot and knocked down two more treys in the third.
The Eagles fought back in the final frame with Caviness draining two more three-point shots for Butner.
The Vikings let off the gas and Mason Palmer added one more trey to the Sasakwa score.
The Sasakwa Vikings win at home with a final score of 70-24.
Scoring for Butner was Seth Caviness with 15 points, all from three-point shots (5).
Rocky Bethany had 4 points on the evening.
Scoring for Sasakwa was Josh Jones with 15 points, 3 treys and was 2 for 2 from the line.
Ayden Livesay had 11 points and 3 treys.
Titan Collins had 11 points, one trey and was 2 for 2 from the line.
