Oklahoma Bats Cut Through the Wind Against Tulsa Tuesday
NORMAN — Despite a howling wind, the potent Oklahoma Sooner (25-2) bats pummeled five home runs as OU defeated Tulsa (8-15), 12-1, in five innings Wednesday, March 11.
Ella Parker paced the Sooners with two homers, while Ailana Agbayani, Gabbie Garcia and Lexi McDaniel all added one apiece. OU now stands at 108 home runs on the season through 27 games, marking the halfway point in Oklahoma’s regular season slate.
OU 12, Tulsa 1 (5 inn.)
OU scored six of its 12 runs in the first inning, beginning with an RBI single from Kasidi Pickering, plating Kai Minor.
Gabbie Garcia rocketed an opposite field three-run home run before Ailana Agbayani went to the pull side of the field with a towering two-run homer.
Tulsa scratched across its only run on two hits in the top of the second before Ella Parker single-handedly drove in the next OU runs with a pair of roundtrippers. Freshman Lexi McDaniel capped the scoring with an 84 mile per hour homer to left in the fourth.
Allyssa Parker earned the win with three innings or work, while Kierston Deal and Sydney Berzon didn’t permit a hit in their innings of effort.
