New Lima Win and Lose at Home Tuesday Night

Tuesday night, New Lima hosted the Macomb Hornets for their second game of the basketball season.

The game was on the Falcons home court and the home crowd showed up.

The New Lima Falconettes started the evening off and took off with the early lead. Avaleigh Fields knocked down four three-point shots in the first quarter.

McKenzie Brummett scored all 12 points for the Lady Hornets in the frame.

New Lima had a sixpoint lead heading into the second period.

Falconette Fields was held to just one trey in the second as both teams stepped up their defenses and came way with 10 New Lima still had a sixpoint lead at the break with a score of 28-22.

The Falconettes collected themselves during the half and went back to work on offense with Jazzy Harjo hitting 2 three-point shots to fire up the crowd. The Falconette defense held the Lady Hornets to six points scored.

Macomb was down by 12 points heading into the final frame. The Lady Hornets made a daring comeback with 13 points scored but Macomb could not catch the Falconettes.

New Lima won the battle 47-41.

For New Lima, Avaleigh Fields had 18 points, all three-points shots (6).

Aubrey Washington had 9 points and was 3 of 13 from the foul line.

Cheyenne Deatherage had 8 points and was 4 of

ROUNDS of

11 from the line.

The New Lima Falcon boys hit the court next.

Both teams were ready to play and were evenly matched in the first quarter. New Lima Falcon Logan Heard scored seven points to help keep the game close.

The Hornets had a twopoint lead heading into the second frame.

The Falcons struggled on offense but continued to battle. The Hornets slowly found their rhythm and created a gap in the score with Cobran Jones of the Hornets knocking down two treys to put Macomb ahead by 7.

The score was 30-23 Macomb at the break.

New Lima struggled again on offense in the third as the Hornets extended their lead by scoring 20 points in the frame.

The Falcons found some momentum with Angel Clark scoring 9 points in the quarter to help close the gap some, but time was not on the Falcons side as time ran out for a comeback.

The Macomb Hornets won the battle with a final score of 69-54.

For the Falcons, Angel Clark had 16 points, 2 assists, 2 rebounds and was 4 of 9 from the foul line.

Waylon Neal had 11 points, 6 rebounds and was 5 of 9 from the line.

Logan Heard had 8 points, 9 rebounds and was 4 of 8 from the line.

Justin Spencer scored 8 points, 5 rebounds and was 0 of 4 from the line.

Next up for New Lima is an away game at Mason on the 8th of November. The next home game is on the 12th against Earlsboro. The game is set to start at 6:30 p.m.
