New Lima Softball Wins at Home Over Bowlegs

The New Lima Lady Falcons hosted the Bowlegs Lady Bison Monday in a hard-fought battle.

The Bowlegs Lady Bison went to bat first and lit up the score board when Mackenzie Burden scored on a walk. The Lady Falconettes went scoreless at the bottom of the inning.

The Lady Bison struggled on offense in the next two innings with no runs. The Falconettes tied things up at the bottom of the second when Krissy Griffis scored on a line drive.

The defense of both teams stepped up in the third with neither team scoring a run.

Bowlegs regained the lead when Grace Dunagan and Jehya scored on a line drive.

New Lima added another run to their score when Griffis scored again on a ground ball.

The Falconettes were down by one run at the top of the fifth. The Lady Bison could not add to their lead in the inning and went threeand- out.

The Lady Falcons had one last try at the bottom of the inning and Jazzy Harjo tied the game up with a score off a line drive. New Lima just needed another run to win the game and Jaidyn Hinton scored the run off a line drive by Cheyenne Deatherage.

The New Lima Falconettes won the battle 4-3.

Next up for Bowlegs is an away game. Is it the last game of the season for the Lady Bison. The game is set to start at 4:30 p.m. with the junior high starting first and the high school following directly after.

Next up for New Lima is the Wilson-Henryetta Festival this weekend. New Lima will travel to Wewoka on the 21st and will have their last home game and last game of the season on the 22nd against Wilson-Henryetta. The game will be a double-header with the first game starting at 4:30 p.m.
