New Lima Falconettes Win at Home Monday Over Wewoka

Cheyenne Deatherage and Jazzy Harjo led the New Lima Falconettes in runs to take the victory over the Wewoka Lady Tigers Monday.

The Lady Tigers went to bat first and got on board when Gabby Banks and Natalie Arsee scored on a line drive.

The Lady Falcons answered back with ten runs starting with Jazzy Harjo scoring on a line drive, Cheyenne Deatherage and Krissy Griffis scored on a ground ball and error, Emma Marchbanks scored on a line drive, Layla Cecil scored on a fly ball, Jaylee Ipock scored on a fly ball, Abigail McCulley, Karli Johnson and Harjo scored on a line drive and Deatherage scored on a ground ball.

Wewoka added a run by Dakiyah Beavers to their score in the second as well as New Lima’s Cecil adding a run in the inning.

Wewoka closed the gap with two runs by Banks and Ashiah Patton in the third.

The Falconettes extended their lead in the inning by Harjo hitting an inside homerun on a line drive, Deatherage homers on a fly ball and Griffis scoring on a ground ball.

New Lima held the Lady Tigers scoreless in the top of the fourth and went back to work in the bottom of the inning when Harjo hit a line drive, knocking in Abigail McCulley, Johnson and Peyton Johnson to win the game 17-5.

Pitching for Wewoka was Emma Slovacek who pitched 3 innings, allowing 17 runs, striking out one and walking one.

Pitching for New Lima was Layla Cecil who pitched 4 innings, allowing 5 runs, striking out three and walking three.

Next up for Wewoka is the Weleetka Tournament this weekend.

Next up for New Lima is the Wilson-Henryetta Festival the 27th.
