Maud Lady Tigers Fall at Home Monday Night

The Maud Lady Tigers hosted the Konawa Lady Tigers for their Senior Night softball game in a battle of the Tigers Monday night.

The Konawa Lady Tigers went to bat first and got on the board with Kenley Sandlln scoring on a line drive, Laila Wroolie and McKenzie Alford scored on a line drive.

The Maud Lady Tigers answered back in the bottom of the first with Abbagail Horton scoring on a line drive and Amerikus Street scored on a ground ball.

Neither team scored in the second and Konawa went three and out at the top of the third. The Maud Lady Tigers took the lead in the bottom of the inning when Shaelynn Fletcher scored on a ground ball, Street scored on a line drive and Jaycee Pack scored to help put Maud up by two.

Konawa scored a single run in the fourth when B. Russell scored on a ground ball. Maud could not add to their lead in the inning.

Konawa regained the lead at the top of the fifth with Kadie Jencik scoring on a ground ball and Jayden Coats scoring on a line drive.

The Maud Lady Tigers tied things up at the bottom of the fifth with a single run by Fletcher.

Konawa lit up the score board in the sixth with Alford scoring on a line drive, Wrollie and Austin Bell scoring on a ground ball. The Maud Lady Tigers had no answer in the inning and Konawa took advantage at the top of the seventh.

After two outs, Konawa Lady Tiger Sandlin and Kirkwood scored on a line drive, Alford scored on a ground and Wrollie scored on a line drive to put Konawa up by seven.

The Maud Lady Tigers had one last attempt to make a comeback. Maud battled in the last inning and Kyliana Brown scored on a line drive and Horton scored on a fly ball, but it wasn’t enough to win the game.

The Konawa Lady Tigers win 13-8 on the road.

Pitching for Maud was Raeyleigh Gensman who pitched seven innings, who allowed 13 runs and walked 13.

Pitching for Konawa was Kadie Jencik who pitched seven innings, allowing 8 runs, striking out one and walking 5.

Next up for Maud is an away game at Stratford.

Next up for Konawa is an away game at Moss on the 17th. The next home game for Konawa is Seminole and Sasakwa on the 21st. Seminole will be at 4:30 p.m. and Sasakwa will be at 5:30 p.m.
