Konawa Lady Tigers Win at Home Against Allen Thursday

The Konawa Lady Tigers hosted the Allen Lady Mustangs Thursday evening and won a close matchup between the two.

The Lady Mustangs went to bat first and scored a single run to get on the board. The Lady Tigers answered right back at the bottom of the first with Kenley Sandlin scoring on a ground ball, Laila Wroolie and Kadie Jencik scored on a ground ball to take the lead.

The Lady Mustangs tied things up in the second with two runs scored. The defense of Allen held the Lady Tigers scoreless in the inning.

Allen took the lead in the top of the third inning with a single run to make it 4-3.

The Lady Tigers struggled again in the third and went three-and-out.

Allen continued with their offense in the fourth and added to their lead with another run. The Lady Tigers reached home plate when Wroolie scored on a ground ball. The defense held the Lady Mustangs scoreless in the fifth and took advantage and regained the lead when S Robinson and McKenzie Alford scored on a line drive.

Allen answered back at the top of the sixth with three runs scored.

The Lady Tigers were down by one heading into the bottom of the inning. Konawa again took the lead when Bliss Henson scored on a walk and Lynn Solano scored on a steal of home.

Allen would tie things up again in the seventh with a single run. Konawa went three-and-out and the game went into extra innings.

In the eighth inning, Allen struggled at bat as the Lady Mustangs go three-and-out. The Lady Tigers scored the winning run when Bliss Henson hit a line drive to left field and Austin Bell sitting at second base scored the final run.

The Konawa Lady Tigers won at home 10-9.

Pitching for the Lady Tigers was Kadie Jencik who pitched eight innings, allowing 9 runs, striking out zero and walking one.

Next up for the Lady Tigers is today at Dibble. The next home game is on the 7th of April against Wayne. The game is set to start at 5:30 p.m.
