College Football Players Entering the Transfer Portal
ATHLON SPORTS - As expected, this year’s college football transfer portal cycle has been incredibly busy. The portal officially opened on Monday, and a large wave of players have entered in hopes of finding more playing time or better NIL deals elsewhere.
Within the first two days of the portal opening, a number of former five-star recruits entered, including former Oklahoma starting quarterback Jackson Arnold.
The SEC has a few teams that have seen a large number of players enter, and currently, Arkansas is the leader.
As of Wednesday morning, Arkansas has 25 outgoing players in the portal, per 247Sports.
Mississippi State has 22 players, including quarterback Michael Van Buren Jr., who started eight games in 2024.
Another Power 4 school with a lot of transfer is UCF, which has seen 22 players enter since Gus Malzahn moved on to Florida State and Scott Frost returned as the head coach.
However, Arkansas leads the way for the time being. Here are some of the big names in the portal from Arkansas: - Patrick Kutas, IOL - Luke Hasz, TE - Jaylon Braxton, CB - Malachi Singleton, QB - Tyrus Washington, TE Freshman running back Braylen Russell entered the portal only to withdraw his name and decide to stay put, which has been some rare positive news for Arkansas.
Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman was heavily involved in hot seat rumors and retirement buzz, but Pittman is returning in 2025 to be the head coach. He has an underwhelming 29-31 overall record and a 14-28 SEC mark during his five years in Arkansas.
All in all, it has not been a good start to Arkansas in the transfer portal, and it has only just started.

Andrel Anthony – Wide Receiver Evan McClure – Offensive Line Kenny Wermy – Offensive Line Here’s a list of the
Oklahoma State players that have entered the portal since it opened: OUT: Jason Brooks Jr., OL — TBD In Brooks’ two seasons in Stillwater, he was in and out of the lineup. In the early part of this past season, he was out a lot more than he was in because of OSU’s offensive line experience, so he left the team and redshirted.
He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Kendal Daniels , LB — TBD From Beggs, Daniels was a big get for OSU coming out of high school, and after a great freshman season, hasn’t been able to replicate that production. He’s switched positions and defensive coordinators, to be fair, and though he had ups and downs this season, his 6-foot-4, 240-pound frame sets him up for sucess — physically, at least.
Daniels has one year of eligibility remaining.
Isaia Glass , OL — TBD Glass’ time in Stillwater is finished after one season. The former Arizona State transfer appeared in all 12 games and started in eight this past season, and yet, even with all the experience around him leaving, is looking elsewhere.
He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Hudson Kaak , P — TBD Kaak, a fan favorite, is leaving Stillwater. The Australian punter served as OSU’s directional punter in a two-punter system with Wes Pahl, who was the power guy.
He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Da’Wain Lofton , WR — TBD The former Virginia Tech wide receiver, Lofton, is on the move again after one season with OSU.
The 5-foot-11, 190pound primary slot receiver caught six passes for 140 yards in four appearances before sitting out the last three to keep his redshirt.
He has one season of eligibility remaining.
Willie Nelson , S — TBD Nelson didn’t appear in any games this past season as a freshman.
He has four seasons of eligibility remaining.
Lyrik Rawls , S — TBD After tearing his ACL in a breakout sophomore season, Rawls appeared in all 12 games this past season but is on the way out after his role diminished.
