Bowlegs Fall to Paden at Home Thursday Night

The Bowlegs Bison hosted the Paden Pirates in their first of four consecutive home games in the next week.

The Lady Bison took to the court first Thursday evening and struggled on offense as the Paden Lady Pirates went on a 11-4 run in the first.

The Lady Pirates dominated the second quarter with Brooklyn Cheatwood scoring 12 points in the frame and holding the Lady Bison to 3 points.

The Bowlegs Lady Bison had no answer on offense in the second but stepped up their defense and frustrated the Lady Pirates in the third.

Lady Bison Cira Parsons knocked down a three-point shot in the third to excite the home crowd and Kloe Oyler also found her three-point range in the fourth quarter, but the damage had already been done on offense by the Lady Pirates. Paden cruised in for the win with a final score of 55-16.

Scoring for the Lady Bison was Jessie Burns with 4 points and Kloe Oyler, Cira Parsons and Kasin Kolander each scored three points in the game.

The Bison boys hit the court next to take on the Paden Pirate boys.

Bowlegs took the lead very early, but the Pirates came right back and tied things up in the first. Bison Hudson Jasna drained a three-point shot to fire up the Bowlegs crowd. Alex Fipps of the Pirates scored 6 points in the frame to help Paden take the lead heading into the second.

The Bowlegs Bison were down by 5 going into the second quarter, the defenses from both teams toughen up and battled throughout the quarter. Bowlegs closed the gap in the quarter and held the Pirates to only 3 points scored in the frame.

Bowlegs were trailing by one point coming from the break.

The battle continued into the third quarter as both teams traded shots. Bowlegs Cayxin Parsons scored 7 points in the quarter with one being a trey while the Pirates Axl Grounds and Cade Cheatwood found their three-point range in the frame to help Paden edge out Bowlegs by 3 points.

Bowlegs struggled on offense in the fourth quarter and could not capitalize on the close game. Paden went on to score 13 points to seal the win for the Pirates with a final score of 44-29.

Leading for Bowlegs was Cayxin Parsons with 11 points, one trey and was four of four from the line.

Darius Morrison scored 8 points and Hudson Jasna got 7 points and one trey.

Next up for Bowlegs is a home game against New Lima on the 3rd of February. The game is set to start at 6:30 p.m.
