Bowlegs Bison Host Maysville Thursday on Senior Night
The Bowlegs Bison hosted the Maysville Warriors for their last game of the regular football season Thursday night on Senior Night.
The game was scheduled for Friday the eighth but due to the weather conditions that were projected for Friday, the game was moved to Thursday.
The Bowlegs Bison seniors were honored before the game Thursday. Bowlegs honored 14 seniors which were accompanied by their parents and loved ones.
The Maysville Warriors received the kickoff to start the game. The Warriors moved the ball down the field and scored on their opening possession. The two-point conversion was good.
Both teams battled throughout the quarter with the Warriors keeping the lead heading into the second with a score of 8-0.
Bowlegs Bison struggled on offense in the first half and could not light up the score board.
Maysville moved the ball down inside the redzone of Bowlegs and scored on a 10-yard run. The two-point conversion failed.
At the 2:40 mark of the second, Maysville scored on a punt return from 45 yards out. The extra point was good.
Bowlegs went back on offense but fumbled the ball and Maysville recovered. The Warriors scored on a 60-yard pass play and added to their lead.
At the break, the score was 30-0 Maysville.
Bowlegs started the third quarter on offense but struggled and went three and out and turned the ball over. The Warriors went back to work on offense and scored a 39-yard touchdown run. The extra was good.
The Bison was on the move on their next offensive possession, but quarterback Hudson Jasna was intercepted, and the Maysville Warrior ran it back for the score. The extra point failed.
The Bowlegs Bison found some daylight on their next possession when QB Jasna connected with wide receiver Cylas Mack for a 45-yard touchdown pass. The twopoint conversion failed.
At the top of the fourth quarter, Maysville punched the ball in from 5-yards out. The extra point failed. Midway through the quarter, Maysville found success again on the ground and scored another touchdown.
The Maysville Warriors won the game with a final score of 56-6.
The Bowlegs Bison have earned their way into the Playoffs this year after a great season.
Bowlegs will play Medford in their first round of playoffs.
