SSC - Seminole State College has named Austin Bogle as the full-time Head Coach of the Men’s Basketball team, removing the interim tag just before the Trojans’ run in the Region II - Division I Tournament.

The announcement came as the SSC prepared to compete in the tournament at Rougher Village Arena in Muskogee from March 12-15.

Bogle, who has led the Trojans as interim head coach throughout the 2024-2025 season, brings a diverse background of collegiate coaching experience to the role. His coaching journey includes roles as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Hawaii, Special Assistant to the Head Coach at Southern Utah University, and Assistant Coach at Northeastern State University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Utah Valley University, where he served as a student manager under current University of Kentucky Head Coach Mark Pope and two-time NBA champion Mark Madsen.

Under Bogle’s leadership, the SSC Trojans earned a No. 3 seed in the Region II Tournament with a 19-11 record. The team has averaged 80 points per game this season and faced off against the sixthranked Redlands Cougars in their opening matchup and won the match 82-69 but fell short against NE Oklahoma A&M Friday.

“Austin has done a tremendous job leading this program, and we are excited about the direction he is taking our men’s basketball team,” SSC Athletic Director Leslie Sewell

said. “His energy, strategic approach and dedication to our student-athletes make him the perfect fit for this position.”

Bogle expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity to continue leading the Trojans. “I’m incredibly grateful

to President Reynolds, Athletic Director Sewell, and the SSC community for their belief in me and the opportunity to build on the foundation we’ve established this season,” he said. “I’m proud of how hard our players have worked to put us in a strong position heading into the tournament, and we’re ready to make a run. I’m excited for the future of the program and look forward to continuing to build a culture of toughness, unity and accountability.”

The SSC Women’s Basketball team, the Belles, also competed in the Region II Division I Tournament. They entered with an 18-10 record as the No. 3 seed and took on the sixth-ranked Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa Mavericks March 13th and won the match 74-63 but also fell to NE Oklahoma A&M Friday. The Belles are led by Head Coach Rita Story- Schell.
