Longtime Wewoka resident Betty Hutson passed away on June 14, 2020.

She is survived by her son Charles Hutson, a daughter, Linda Clemons and a daughter, Debra Thurmond. Also 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Due to the curren pandemic, a celebration of the life of “Grandma Betty” will be held when more family members are able to travel.

Born Betty Lou Pike on Feb. 1, 1931 in Bearden Ok.

She moved to Wewoka Ok. in 1947 where she met and married Jack T. Hutson in 1948.

The family moved back to Wewoka in 1963 and built a home west of town.

Jack was recruited by the Navy and re-enlisted and served several years in Vietnam.

Betty remained in Wewoka until late in 1969 joining Jack in the Washington D.C. area.

They returned to the family home in 1981 after Jack retired and lived there until his death in 1991.

Betty purchased her residence on Tedford Way in Wewoka and lived there until her death.

She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church.

She recently attended the First United Methodist Church.
