William Russell Woods was born on November 1, 1955 in Pasadena, TX. Known to those that loved him as Russell, or “RuRu,” he was the youngest of 3 children born to Bobby and Bobbie Woods. He graduated from Grand Prairie High School before moving to Oklahoma. He spent his career traveling for work installing cable, before later getting involved in home construction. But his true joy in life was being outdoors hunting and fishing. Russell could be found deer hunting with his family and friends at any opportunity. He loved football, and proudly supported his Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma State Cowboys. He loved his family immensely, and was always the life of the party. Russell passed away in his home on May 18, 2022.

Russell is survived by his loving parents, Bobby Leon and Bobbie Nell Woods; his sister, Kay Brandon and her husband Donnie Brandon; his sister-in-law, Cindy Woods; his daughter, Lindsey Nell Shaub and her husband Bill Shaub; his grandchildren, Trace and Tristan Shaub, and numerous other family members. He is preceded in death by his big brother Steven Earl Woods, his nephew James David Brandon, and several aunts, uncles, and grandparents. He will be greatly missed.

Those serving as casket bearers are Jeremy Woods, Hunter Woods, Hudson Woods, Heston Woods, Heath Woods and Josh Leigh. Honorary casket bearers will be Bunky McCarty, Ronnie Stackhouse, Billy Hooker, Emmitt Breslin, Donnie Brandon and Cole Woods.

Viewing will be Friday, May 20, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Services for Russell will be held Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 2pm graveside at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
