Seminole resident William Donald “Bill” Davisson passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022, in Oklahoma City.

Bill, the son of Donald and Dorothy (Gray) Davisson, was born January 23, 1936, in Duncan, Oklahoma. He graduated with the Seminole High School class of 1954. Bill went on to Oklahoma State University, where he studied engineering. While at OSU, to pass the time and make some extra money, Bill would build and sell music amplifiers. It became a life-long hobby.

When Bill left OSU, he married the late Carolyn Turley, from Seminole, and proudly served in the US Army. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Bill moved his family to Florida to work as a communications engineer for NASA. There, he worked on the Apollo projects at Cape Canaveral, Florida and shared in the success of the nation putting the first man on the moon. Later, Bill moved to Portland, Texas and worked for the CilChem company as a Mud engineer. Upon retirement he moved back to his hometown of Seminole.

Bill loved doing anything technical, particularly audio tech and computers. He was an avid videographer before its time. Bill always had a video recorder with him and preserved many special moments with his children and grandchildren. He had been a member of the Jaycees and was a proud and active member of the First United Methodist Church of Seminole until his passing.

On May 23, 2011, Bill married Lola Cornelison at the First United Methodist Church of Seminole and they enjoyed more than a decade together.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Carolyn; and two his sisters, Donna Smith and Peggy Sisson.

Bill is survived by his wife, Lola, of the home; sons, William Davisson, Jr. (Nancy), of Seminole, and Craig Davisson (Kristi) of Tampa, Florida; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Angela, Carolyn and Kathryn Davisson; great grandson, Preston Brown; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; and beloved family and friends.

A memorial service will be Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church of Seminole, 910 W. Wrangler Blvd., Seminole Oklahoma, with Pastor Lamarla Cook officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the First United Methodist Church of Seminole.
