William (Bill) H. Ennis, 97, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday December 29th, 2020 while at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center.

Bill was born in Allen, Oklahoma on December 6th, 1923; he was the son of Harrison and Lalia (Chambers) Ennis.

Bill was united in marriage on December 17th, 1945 at the First Baptist Church in Ada, Oklahoma to Retta Lee (Collins); the two were together for 66 years of marriage until Retta went to her heavenly home on December 8th, 2011.

A proud Navy veteran of WWII, Bill earned several medals serving as a Coxswain mate aboard the USS Hyperion traveling throughout the Pacific. After his honorable discharge in 1946, he returned to Sasakwa, Oklahoma to marry the love of his life, Retta.

Always a proponent of hard work and providing for his family, Bill held many positions throughout his 50 year career in the Oilfield.

He was a 10 year employee for both Powell Briscoe, Inc. and Helmerich & Payne, Inc. during the 1950’s and 1960’s.

Afterwards, Bill served as a dedicated production foreman of Bill Weems Oil, Inc. for more than 30 years, while also founding with his wife their own oil production company, Bill H. Ennis, Inc. and tank truck service company, AmRon Tank Truck Service.

Always on the move, Bill enjoyed countless years on the water at Lake Texoma boating with his family.

Additionally, Bill enjoyed buying and selling property, vehicles, and equipment; he never found anything that he wouldn’t attempt to fix or improved the Bill Ennis way. Nothing, however, gave him more joy in life than spending time and making memories with those that loved him most.

Bill is survived by his son RJ and wife Amber Ennis of Dallas, Texas, his granddaughter whom he raised as a daughter, Amber and husband Ed Gray of Ada, Oklahoma, grandson Austin Ennis of Oklahoma City, five great-grandchildren, Trenton Patterson and fiancé Meagan Jumper of Dallas, Texas, Triston and wife Laci Patterson of Oklahoma City, Treyton Patterson of Ada, JonThomas Gray of Ada, and Rhett Gray of Ada, and special cousins whom he considered his sister and brothers Velva Talley of Oklahoma City, Gerald Chambers of Oklahoma City, and Ben Chambers of Ruidoso, New Mexico.
