Wanda Oleta Baxter

Wanda Oleta Baxter, 85, longtime Little, Oklahoma resident, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital, South in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Wanda was born December 2, 1933 in Henry, Oklahoma to Ralph Franklin Wilson and Gladys Ellen (Eastwood) Wilson.

Wanda was a Home Health Care aide. During her life she also had worked as a Nurse’s Aide and in a garment factory. Wanda loved cooking, sewing, gardening and visiting with her grandchildren.

Wanda married Henry Samuel Baxter on April 12, 1950 in Mena, Arkansas. Henry preceded her in death on February 25, 2016.

Wanda is survived by her four daughters; Jo Ellen Baxter Shoop and her husband Robert of Spiro, Oklahoma, Janice K. Lindley and her husband Clifford of Holden-ville, Oklahoma, Beverly Beth Baxter of Meeker, Oklahoma and Tammie Lynn Baxter of Seminole, Oklahoma, one brother Cecil Wilson of Ft. Worth, Texas and her sister Betty Waggoner of Joshua, Texas, six grandchildren and eight grandchildren.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Gladys Wilson, her husband Henry Samuel Baxter, her son Henry “Sam “Baxter, one brother Austin Wilson and a sister Yvonne Gawin.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M., Monday July 1, 2019 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Bill Chesser officiating the service. Burial followed at Little Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Justin Shoop, Wes Morton, Wes Lindley, Michael Lindley, Sammy Luker and Blaine Morton.

Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole is in charge of funeral arrangements.
