Walter Gene Lindsey, lifelong Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on February 2, 2021 at the age of 74 at Seminole Care and Rehabilitation Center in Seminole. He was born November 27, 1946 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Willie and Lizzie (Coody) Lindsey. Gene attended Jones Academy in Hartshorne, Oklahoma and graduated in 1967. Gene served his country in the United States Army from 1968-1970. He later attended Tulsa Welding School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He worked for BFI Waste Services for many years.

Gene is survived by his daughter; Elissa Lindsey of Seminole, Oklahoma, his sister; Augustine Lindsey of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, brothers; Jimmy and Peggy Lindsey of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Leroy and Debbie Mitchell of Seminole. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Bobby Jack Spencer, Charles, Eugene, Thomas and Alex Lindsey, sisters.

Gene will be taken home at 28 Randolph Drive on Thursday, February 4, 2021. The wake service will take place there on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. He will be taken to Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 6, 2021 for the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Kevin Fox and Houston Tiger officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
