Vonda Coats

Okemah resident Vonda J. Coats, age 78 departed this life on Saturday, August 22, 2020 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

She was born April 21, 1942

Vonda married Gene Eldridge Coats February 23, 1974 in Las Vegas, NV. He preceded her in death December 31, 2016.

Vonda was a member of First Baptist Church Cromwell.

Her hobbies were gardening, arts and crafts, going to garage sales, riding motorcycles and camping.

She enjoyed spending time with family, friends and grandchildren.

Survivors include children Deon Coats and wife Angela of Cromwell, OK, L. Gene Coats and wife Debra of Dallas, TX, Sherri Hernandez and husband Victor of Temecula, CA, Ronda Gwin of Harrah, OK.; eighteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; siblings Sandra Davis and husband Gary of Wewoka, OK, Betty Jo Foster and husband John of Wewoka, David Brown of Wewoka, OK, Aurva Brown and Carolyn of Seminole, OK, Joe Don Brown and wife Violet of Wewoka, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pall bearers will be Deon Coats, L. Gene Coats, Brian Lucas, Westley Gwin, Colton Gwin, Matthew Coats,, Ethan Gwin and Caleb Gwin.

Honorary pall bearer will be Cody Coats.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Thursday August 27, 2020 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel with Pastor Andy Young officiating and burial to follow Oakwood Cemetery.
