Seminole resident, Virginia Ann (Rimer) Guthrie, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023 in Oklahoma City.

Virginia, the daughter of Foy Marion and Mattie Love (Page) Rimer, was born October 18, 1941, in Shawnee. On July 1st, 1989, Virginia married Jimmy Guthrie, in Seminole. She and Jimmy enjoyed 30 years of marriage prior to his passing on August 8, 2019. Virginia went to work for Blue Bell in Seminole and ultimately retired from Wrangler after the company changed hands; she worked there for 30 years prior to her retirement. Virginia loved treasure hunts; whether she was at an antique store or a garage sale, she loved looking for keepsakes, particularly Elvis collectibles. She also loved animals, donating to the ASPCA and to the humane society. Her best times were spending time with her family, she enjoyed camping and fishing and Lake Eufaula, or simply settling in to watch a western movie with Jimmy.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and seven siblings.

Virginia is survived by her sons and daughtersin- law, Kenny Houck and Lora of Noel, Missouri, and Karl Houck and Cindy of Russell, Kansas, Bryan Guthrie of Seminole; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly Hamm and Chad of Shawnee; grandchildren, Dylan Guthrie, Jillian Guthrie, Caleb Hamm, Brian Houck, Laura Giebler, and Kristan Newton; great grandchildren, Kylie Houck, Paxton Newton, Ella Giebler, Hayden Giebler, Landon Giebler, Athena Houck, Rosemary Vazquez, and Xavier Vazquez; a brother, Clayton Rimer of Shawnee; sister, Betty Winthrow of Shawnee; and many other family and friends.

A memorial service will be Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
