Violet Mae ‘Granny Mae’ Ranells, received her heavenly wings, June 3rd, 2024, at the age of 93 years.

Mae was born on March 29, 1931, in Seminole County, Oklahoma, to Silas Joe and Mary Etta (Persinger) Wilson. On October 18, 1947, she married Virgil Lee Ranells, in Konawa, Seminole County, Oklahoma. To this union was born three children, Mary Sue, JoAnn, and Billy. Mae was a member of the Asher First Baptist Church, where she was active in vacation Bible school. She loved going to garage sales, taking care of her yard, whether that meant working her garden or pulling weeds, sewing, and her dogs, however there was nothing as important to Mae as her family, particularly her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Silas and Mary Etta; her husband, Virgil; her two daughters, Mary Sue Davis and JoAnn Spoonemore.

Mae is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Anita Ranells, of Wewoka; son-in-law, Cecil Spoonemore, of Seminole; grandchildren, Johna Lee and her husband Josh, of Latta, Tragg Ranells and his wife, Chrystal, of Seminole, Susan Davis and friend Jerry Roof, of Asher, Cody Davis and his wife, Robin, of Tecumseh, Paul Spoonemore, of Seminole, and Samantha Kerr and her husband, Stanley, of Francis, Oklahoma; great grandchildren, Logan Seeley, Dalton Ranells,

Obituary

Ranells Carson Jack Ranells, Jacie Lee, Jalynn Lee, Abby Davis, Chelby Davis, Josiah Davis, Alexis Kerr, Isisah Spoonemore, and Urban Spoonemore; great great grandchildren, Ava and Karter Seeley, and Ricky Ranells; along with many other family members and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Seminole Care and Rehab, and Humanity Hospice; Mae’s special buddies, Garrett Napier, and LeeAnn Brooks. Without all of you the care she received would not have been possible.

Services will be Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at the Asher First Baptist Church, with Garrett Napier officiating. Burial will follow at Vista Cemetery east of Asher. Casket bearers will be Tragg Ranells, Logan Seeley, Dalton Ranells, Carson Jack Ranells, Cody Davis, and Josh Lee.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
