Thomas “Ahhhhready” Joe Harjo Jr., Seminole resident, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023 in Seminole, OK. Thomas was born on June 19, 1972 in Wewoka, OK to Thomas Joe Harjo Sr. and Lillie Mae (Walters) Harjo. He grew up in Wewoka. Thomas married Lynn Hulbutta on December 20, 2014 at Rock Springs.

Thomas enjoyed making origami, working, cutting hair listening to music and breakdancing. He loved his wife, kids and grandchildren. His favorite word was ”AHHHHREADY” and that became his nickname. Thomas was loved by so many. His grandchildren would ask him for help or for something and his response would be “You got $5?” His grandchildren owe him enough for him a wealth of $5. Thomas could make anyone laugh on their sad days. One didn’t have to be his niece or nephew for him to be their “Uncle Junebug”. Thomas will be missed by a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends. Thomas loved his family at Oklahoma Custom Coating.

Thomas is survived by his father, wife, Lynn Hulbutta- Harjo of the home; son, Diomtrey Hulbutta of Seminole; daughter, Lillie Mae Harjo of Seminole; daughter-in-law, Iva Hilton; two brothers, Simon Larney and spouse, Leandra Yellowfish and Roy Larney and spouse, Clarice; six sisters, Sharon Hicks, Rebecca Yarbrough, Sheila Leitka, Cassandra Spain and spouse, Bill Spain Jr.; Cimarron Harjo and Thomasine Harjo and many other family and friends.

Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Mae Harjo; grandparents, Frank and Susie Walters and Ech and Madella Harjo.

Those serving as casket bearers will be Toby Hulbutta, Diomtrey Hulbutta, Locv Shaw, John Harjo, Brandon Carbitcher and Lou LaPlante. Honorary casket bearers will be Josiah Harjo, Josh Hulbutta, Andrew Shaw and The Family of Oklahoma Custom Coating.

Thomas will be taken to the home at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. He will be taken to the Wewoka Indian Baptist Church on 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2023 at Wewoka Indian Baptist Church. Rev. Kevin Fox and Rev. Eric Thlocco will officiate. Burial will follow at Goat Cemetery in Wewoka, OK. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
