Tammy Lee Overstreet was born on August 25, 1973 in Wewoka, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Charley and Edna Overstreet. She grew up in Wewoka, Oklahoma and graduated from Wewoka High School in 1991.

She was a member of Saint Stephen’s Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Freddie Griffis until she moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Tammy attended Rose State College where she met and married Daniel Ray Shaw, Jr. on May 26, 2006. To this union four beautiful children were born, Darren, Derek, Tamia and Lillie. They were the joy of her life.

She worked at the Oklahoma Allergy and Asthma Clinic for fifteen years. After leaving the Oklahoma Allergy and Asthma Clinic, she was a housewife and a devoted worker at her children’s schools. Tammy was Vice President for PTA and a mentor at Britton Elementary for eight years. She kept her children actively involved in sports,, ballroom dancing, ballet and other school activities. Her hobbies were reading, cooking, watching sports and listening to music. Tammy was very intelligent, never judgmental, unbiased and always willing to help others. She was loved and respected by everyone she met.

Tammy was preceded in death by her father: Charley Overstreet, grandparents: Martin and Lillie Phillips, Ivory and Carrie Overstreet, aunts: Ruby Street, Polly Overstreet, Ollie Dotson and Mary Forshee, uncle: Ivory Overstreet.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband Daniel Ray Shaw, Jr., children: Darren Lamar, Derek Lee, Tamia Nicole and Lillie Renee, loving mother Edna Overstreet, sisters: Lisa Phillips and Tonya Overstreet, great aunt, Maggie King, aunts: Thelma Warrior, Ella Hanson (Samuel), Exzetta Smiley (Horace), and Margaret Phillips, uncle: Virgil Phillips, mother-in-law Brenda Shaw, sister-in-law Denise Hyche (Shaun), brother-in-law Ronnie Shaw and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M, Saturday, May 21, 2022 at New Life Church in Wewoka, OK with Pastor Gaylon “Stacy” Bert officiating. Interment to follow at Westwood Cemetery, Wewoka, OK.
