Steven Bruner

Steven Wayne Bruner was born January 14th, 1959 in Wewoka, OK to Nahum and Jearline (Pittman) Bruner. Proceeding him in death are his parents, three sisters, and four brothers. Steve graduated from Wewoka High School in 1977. During his senior year, he attended Gordon Cooper Technical School in Shawnee Oklahoma where he completed Carpentry training. Steve accepted Christ at young age and was baptized at the Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.

After graduating from Wewoka High School, he attended East Central University in Ada Oklahoma, where he was a member of the Football team for two years. Steve was a very talented person when it came to fixing anything. His passion was working on automobiles and building the best Hot Rod possible. He loved all forms of auto racing. One of his favorite pastimes was going to the country and working. He also enjoyed watching wrestling with his sons. A humbling spirit, Steve donated to charities close to his heart every year.

Steve was employed by Penske Truck Leasing for 31 years where he achieved the level of ASE Certified Diesel Technician. Steve enjoyed sharing his work knowledge with his co-workers and pursuing additional training opportunities to further develop his skills.

Steve leaves to cherish his memory: His beloved wife Etta, two sons, Bradly DeWayne and Lance Irvin. Three Sisters, Yvonne (Jessie) Sands, Lanetta Stevenson, and Lavonne Bruner. Three Brothers, John Michael Bruner, Hiawatha Curtis (Jewel) Bruner, Harold Richard (Fredia) Bruner. One Aunt, Jackye Russell, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday January 29, 2021 at Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.
