Shirley Ida Transue age 73 departed this life on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at her home. She was born on October 5, 1945 in Brooken, Oklahoma to the late Bane Watkins and Addie Oneta Norman Watkins. She attended Sasakwa High School and worked for Sun Oil as a pumper, retiring in 1986

Shirley enjoyed sewing, cooking, quilting, fishing, playing cards and computer games. Her joy was spending time with her four daughters and their families. She was an avid antique collector. Shirley was a member of the Cherokee Tribe.

Preceding Shirley in death are her parents, son Faron Dewain Brookshier, sister Judy Loftis.

Survivors include her four daughters Shree Smith( Alan Streater) of Wewoka, OK, Lavetta Cruse and husband Tim of Shreveport, LA, Sandy Brookshier of Wewoka, OK and Tonya Hisaw and husband Delbert of Wewoka, OK; sister Gloria Norman and husband Dwayne of Eufaula, OK, sister Phyllis Watkins of Francis, OK; brother Bane Watkins and wife Shirley of Ada, OK, Billie Ann Watkins of Ada, OK; Grandchildren Danielle Walker, Cy Smith, Vickie Walker, Micah Walker, Jade “DJ” Cunningham, April Cruse, Hr’ Lee Hisaw , and Samatha Eakin; Sixteen great-grandchildren; Six great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday September 10, 2019 at Stout-Phillips Chapel with Pastor Perry Justice and Pastor Matt Stubblefield officiating and burial to follow at Vamossa Cemetery.
