Shirley Ann Stafford, 71, lifelong Bowlegs, Oklahoma resident, passed away, Friday, September 13, 2019 at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Shirley was born on December 22, 1947 in Seminole, Oklahoma to William Bryant Stafford and Nellie (Thatcher) Stafford.

Shirley lived in Bowlegs all her life. She attended Bowlegs Public Schools and graduated from Bowlegs High School in 1966. During her life she worked only in Bowlegs. She worked for many years at Ray Vandever’s Grocery Store, also at John Smith‘s Café, and Bowlegs Public Schools.

Shirley was a faithful member of the Bowlegs Assembly of God Church, where she taught 5-year-old children, in bible class, for 35 years. She always took care of her family and helped wherever and whenever she was needed. She loved them very much and they loved her and will miss her dearly.

Shirley is survived by her sister: Vicki Presley and her husband Curtis of Bowlegs, Oklahoma, two brothers; Don Stafford and his wife , Judy of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Clifford Stafford of Bowlegs, Oklahoma, and several nieces and nephews, that she thought of as her own children, and several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her four brothers; Jerry Stafford, Carl Stafford, Lonnie Stafford and David Stafford.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday September 17, 2019 at the Bowlegs Assembly of God Church in Bowlegs, with Rev. Roy Robertson officiating. Burial followed at Little Cemetery, North of Seminole, Oklahoma.

Casket bearers were her nephews; Charles Presley, David Stafford, Adam Stafford, Aaron Stafford, Randy Stafford, Mike Stafford, Neil Stafford and Scott Stafford.

Honorary Bearers were her great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
