Kenneth & Shirley Castle Shirley Jean Castle, longtime Seminole resident, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 in Seminole at the age of 70 alongside the love of her life, Kenneth “Kenny” Castle. Shirley was born on April 23, 1953 in Seminole, OK to Howard Lonzo and Laura Mae (Brown) Yancey. She married Kenneth Castle on August 27, 1973 in Seminole, OK.

Shirley enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, sewing clothes and costumes, fishing, family gatherings and basketball. She was like a second mother to all her nieces and nephews. Shirley loved hosting annual Halloween costume parties. She was always the life of the party wherever she went. Her and Kenny’s house was constantly full of nieces and nephews. She had a love for reading and collecting dolls. Shirley was always teasing and joking with everyone around her. She left us with laughter even after she was gone.

Shirley is survived by grandson, Christian Castle; three sisters, Judy Roberts and husband, Jerry of Seminole, OK, Lillie Davidson and husband, Darryl of Alamo, TX and Dorothy Marlow of Seminole; dear friend, Jalena Blankenship Akins and many other family and friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenny Castle; daughter, Leslie Castle; sisters, Betty Lozer, Margaret McNeill, Sheila Gore and Patricia Whitham and brother, Howard Yancey.

Memorial services for Shirley and Kenny will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor Jimmy Moreland officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Kenneth “Kenny” E. Castle, longtime Seminole resident, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 in Seminole, at the age of 72, alongside the love of his life, Shirley Castle. Kenny was born on July 8, 1951 in Columbia City, Indiana to John Wesley Castle and Lois Joy (Blanchard) Castle. He grew up and spent most of his life in Seminole, OK. He married Shirley Jean Yancey on August 27, 1973 in Seminole, OK.

Kenny enjoyed fishing, collecting model cars, knives and swords, camping, spending time with family and arguing with Shirley.

Kenny is survived by grandson, Christian Castle; three brothers, Jack Castle and wife, Millie of Seminole, OK, Phillip Donald Castle of Seminole, OK and Emmit Curtis Houck of Little River, South Carolina; sister, Patti Castle of Sapulpa, OK; sister-in-law, Carolyn Castle of Seminole, OK and many other family and friends.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Leslie Castle; sisters, Shirley (Chris) Houck and Eddie West; brothers, Thomas Castle and Andrew Houck and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Shirley and Kenny will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor Jimmy Moreland officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
