Ronald Dean Brown, age 66 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, entered into his eternal home August 11, 2023 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City surrounded by his loving family.

Cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, and a memorial mass with military honors is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located three miles west of Konawa. Fr. Joseph Duggempudi will officiate.

Ronald was born August 29, 1956 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to Roy Frederick Brown and Dorothy Jean (Nichols) Brown. After graduating high school, he worked as a roughneck for the oil and gas industry. He proudly served his country as an Army Specialist 4 in Germany from 1973 until 1975. Ronald loved spending time with his grandchildren, and they were his pride and joy. He loved gardening, listening to music, and playing the guitar. He was also a good mechanic. Ronald will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by one daughter, Marisa Brown and son-in-law, Joshua Whitley of Konawa; the mother of his only child and long-time friend, Viola Jones; best friend, Bobby Honsinger; friends, Dawn Rhodd, Rhonda and Mike Brimm; four grandchildren, Jaylin “Baby Jays” Whitley, Tyler “Bubba” Whitley, Trey “Boo Bear” Whitley, and Mattie “My Precious” Whitley; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Roy Brown; two brothers, Gary Wayne Brown and Scotty Gene Brown; and one newborn sister, Gerry Lynn Brown.
