Whisnant Robert Ray Whisnant passed peacefully from this life on April 6, 2025 at his home in Drumright, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years, 4 months, and 12 days.

Robert was born on November 25, 1943 in Earlsboro, Oklahoma to the late Robert Roosevelt and Ollie May (Rhamy) Whisnant. He was raised and educated in Cromwell, Oklahoma along with his 2 brothers and 6 sisters, all of whom he cherished.

In 1961 he graduated from Butner High School and married Joyce Leona. Together they built a strong and loving home filled with faith, dedication and perseverance; in which they raised a beautiful family of 5 daughters and 2 sons. Robert was a devoted and loving father who instilled in his children the values of strength, responsibility and compassion.

In 2018, Robert married Sandra Lee and together they shared years of companionship, peace and devotion. Through this union he welcomed a stepdaughter and 3 step-grandchildren into his heart and family.

Robert was a man of many talents and trades. Throughout his life, he worked as a welder, crane operator, construction worker, preacher and entrepreneur. No matter what the role may have been, he poured himself into his work with dedication, skill and purpose. His passion for helping others and sharing his faith was evident in both his career and his ministry.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his Brother Alive Whisnant; Sisters, Evelyn, Geraldine, Ester, Dorothy, Imogene and Joyce; Son, Billy Gene; Daughters, Scheral, Roberta, and Sandra Diane; and 2 Great Grandsons.

Robert’s remaining family includes his Wife, Sandra of the home; Son Bobby Whisnant and his wife Gracie of Cromwell, Ok; Daughters Gay and Cleta Whisnant, both of Cromwell, Ok; Stepdaughter Lacey Wilkerson; Grandchildren Angie, Savannah, Sammy Joe, Kimberly, Shelby, Miley, Anthony, Cheyenne, Steven, Blake, Hope, Caleb, Lucas, Whitney and Kaylee; 39 Great Grandchildren; Brother James Whisnant of Bearden, Ok; plus MANY nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, all of whom will carry on his legacy of love, faith, compassion and perseverance.

Robert will be remembered for his steadfast faith, his hardworking spirit and the unconditional love he showed to everyone around him. His impact will live on through his family, his work and the many lives he touched.
