Rev. Dr. James Anderson
Anderson Rev. Dr. Jimmy (James) Anderson was born August 14,1932 and passed away March 2, 2026. Jimmy was born in Kansas City, Missouri to father Norman Anderson and Mother Mattie Stidham (Anderson).
Rev. Dr. Jimmy Anderson has preached and served the Lord for over 60 years. He pastored, started many Native American churches and led many mission trips all over the world. He surrendered to the ministry in 1956, ordained in 1961 and retired from pastoring in June 2022. He never retired from preaching though. Rev. Anderson continued to share the message through recorded sermons that were taken from home in his living room and broadcasted on social media up until a few months ago.
Rev. Jimmy Anderson is preceded in death by his wife, Cowena Bruner Anderson, sister, Ruby Anquoe, and brother, Richard Anderson.
Rev. Jimmy is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Anderson, Jon Anderson, Billy and Nena Anderson and Andrew Anderson. Jimmy also had seven grandkids; Deanne Grant, Eric Anderson, Chloe Anderson, Aaron and Sherri Anderson, Alex Anderson, Alan Anderson, Michael Anderson and seven (7) great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Eric Anderson, Aaron Anderson, Alex Anderson, Alan Anderson, Michael Anderson and Rashad Reece. Honorary pallbearers are Tim Anquoe, Truman Anquoe, Richard Anderson and Adrian Anderson.
Viewing will be 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 4th and 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5th at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Jimmy will be moved to Many Springs Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5th for the Wake Service at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2026 at Many Springs Baptist Church with Rev Gary Hawkins officiating and Rev. John Moppin, Moderator.
Interment will follow at Many Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
